Piracy has destroyed the Music, Film and TV of today because no one is buying original sources anymore and instead using copies that are made illegally. This can potentially kill popular culture and change the future of music etc.
The fact that no ones paying for their music and seek for free sources, boosts the popularity of apps and downloads that supply this. Perhaps in the future, music will no longer be sold on CD's but instead just run off of applications. It's hard to limit the amount of illegal resources online for music and TV, as there is thousands of them across the internet.
There is a few apps that you do pay for, but are a lot cheaper than buying them in the shop or off of iTunes such as Spotify.
