DIFFUSION OF INNOVATION

For this weeks lesson we looked at how a small trend expands to a world renowned product and is sold at a cheaper price. The trend will start from a Innovator which would be the inventor of a product i.e. the brand. The Early Adapters is the people that develop this idea i.e. magazines, highly thought of celebrities and online promotion. The Early Majority is then trend setters, like bloggers and celebrities that are recognised with the product which then influences people to want them. The Late Majority is then the products being recreated as a cheaper version in high street stores. Finally, the Laggards are the people that are slowest to adopt new ideas, i.e. market stalls and Primark which are cheap low quality products.

UGG BOOTS

We had to think of a product that has worked its way through this chart. We chose the UGG Boot as it once started off as a small idea and is now seen in mass production in low quality stores.
