STREET STYLE

It is obvious when looking at street style in all 3 locations there is a distinctive trend taken from each. To sum up Brick Lane in one word I would say Urban. Everyone thrives to be different and edgy, with a lot of Vintage wear worn. We see a lot of dark colours, and vans/converse or clumpy trainers are worn by most of the young people in this area. Someone that caught my eye as typical Brick Lane trend, is the lady in the red puffy jacket, as although some may find it extreme style I see that she dresses to be cool but comfy. Trousers are raised above the ankle, which makes the look more relaxed and rebellious.

In Kings Rd I found a completely different trend. I generally came across people of the older generation, however the 'Oversized Coat' seemed to be on everyone. To me it looked like nearly everyone was rushing somewhere, unless it was the obvious dog walkers. The main trend I can take from Kings Road is the higher end, oversized long coats coming mainly in Neutral colours.

To me it seems that people in Portobello Road seem to have more fun with what they choose to wear. You can see a lot of Vintage but worn in a very different way in comparison with Brick Lane. The lady in the red coat is a prime example of this, she madly matches her shoes and coat together using such strong use of colour throughout her outfit. People in this area seem to dress with more experimentation in mind, rather than focusing on specific mainstream trends.
