Re-inventing a technique that was used many years ago, it has become popular to use trompe l’oeil to make a flat wall look seemingly 3-D. It's something that any one can try or you can purchase stencils to create this effect. It's all about catching the shadows and lighter areas that make the art look three-dimensional. This trend proves how even in interior design classic styles can still come back into fashion, and something we would usually label "old fashioned" is now become new trends.
